Return and Refund Policy

At Thanjai Special, we strive to deliver fresh, authentic and high-quality products from Thanjavur to your doorstep. Since most of our items are perishable, handmade and food-based, we have a clear return and refund policy for a smooth customer experience.

  1. No Returns for Food Products

Due to the nature of the items we sell (like sweets, snacks, Handicrafts.),for food items we do not accept returns once the product is delivered.

Food products cannot be taken back due to:

  • Health and safety regulations
  • Perishable nature
  • Hygiene concerns
  1. Damaged, Leaked or Spoilt Products

We ensure secure packing, but in rare cases if your order arrives:

  • Spoiled
  • Damaged
  • Leaking
  • Incorrect item delivered

Then you may be eligible for a replacement or refund.

Conditions to Raise a Claim

You must report the issue within 24 hours of delivery with:

  • Clear photos of the product
  • Clear photos of the packaging
  • Order number / invoice details

If valid, we will:

  • Send a replacement OR
  • Issue a full or partial refund depending on the situation
  1. Delayed Delivery

We try to deliver fresh products quickly. However, if the delay is caused by courier or unavoidable logistics issues, refunds will be handled on a case-by-case basis.

If the product becomes unusable due to excessive delay, please report immediately with photos.

  1. Order Cancellation
    Before Dispatch

You may cancel the order before dispatch and receive a full refund.

After Dispatch

Once the order is shipped, cancellation is not possible, as products are freshly packed and perishable.

  1. Non-Refundable Cases

Refunds are not applicable in the following cases:

❌ Change of taste preference
❌ Customer provided wrong address or unreachable contact
❌ Courier attempts failed due to non-availability
❌ Items opened and consumed partially
❌ Requests made without proper proof or outside the 24-hour window

  1. Refund Process

After your claim is approved, refunds will be processed through:

  • Bank transfer / UPI / Wallet
  • Same mode as original payment

Refund processing time: 5–7 working days

  1. Handmade Non-Food Products

For handmade items (crafts, dolls, home décor, brass items, etc.):

Returns are accepted only if:

  • Item is damaged
  • Wrong item delivered
  • Item arrives broken

Customer must report within 48 hours with photos.
